The LED marketplace is the single fastest growing and evolving segment of the lighting industry. You have seen these devices in automobiles, signage, and traffic signals for years.  The lumens per watt and lumens per dollar for white LEDs has improved dramatically, making the costs more attractive to the mainstream for various new construction and retrofit applications.  One of the most significant applications for this technology has been the replacement of fluorescent lighting systems in reach-in freezer door frames with an LED light bar. This bar can then controlled by a motion sensor that will extinguish the LED bar off if no shopper is present in front of the case. To date IES has installed these products in over 500 stores.
